New youth group in Havering offers LGBT+ communities chance to make new friends

By Rudi Abdallah in Community News

YOUNG LGBT people in Havering can widen their social networks at a newly unveiled youth group in the borough.

Councillors and community leaders gathered to mark the opening of the LGBT+ Youth Group founded by Eastside Youth, a non-profit start-up business based in east London, and Havering Council.

The group will provide a safe space for LGBT people under 19 to make new friends on Mondays from 6pm to 8pm.

Cllr Alex Donald, member champion for young people, and chairman of Havering LGBT+ Forum said: "Thanks to Eastside Youth and Havering Council, I am so pleased young LGBT+ people in Havering now have a space to call their own."
