NATIONAL League South outfit, Chelmsford City, have confirmed the departure of midfield playmaker, Robbie Willmott, from the Melbourne Stadium following their play-off defeat at the hands of Ebbsfleet United.
The former Newport County and Cambridge United man joined the Clarets at the start of the season and became fans favourite with his numerous assists during the team’s successful campaign. However, he has announced that he won’t be renewing his contract once it expires later this month.
Speaking prior to his departure, the Willmott sent a thank you message to the Clarets fans, saying: “Unfortunately, I won’t be signing a new contract with the Club. An opportunity has come up which I cannot turn down.
added: “Thank you once again, it has been a pleasure playing for such a great football club.”
The 27-year-old, who is rumoured to be moving to a club currently in the Football League, added: “Thank you once again, it has been a pleasure playing for such a great football club.”
