HAVERING Council’s children’s services received a prestigious award on Wednesday, May 17.
The council team clinched the Greatest Number of Users’ Award at the Mind Of My Own (MOMO) conference.
More than 300 young people have used an app, which allows direct engagement with social workers or independent reviewing officers, over the past eight months.
The app allows children to express their views and gives them a greater say in their own care plan.
Tim Aldridge, director of children’s services, said: “Havering will change the way it engages and relates to young people in the care system, improving their lived experiences and life chances as they transition to adulthood.”
