Hornchurch mental health charity invites people to open up about anxiety and depression and find support

By Rudi Abdallah in Health

A MENTAL health charity in Hornchurch enlightened residents about the support available to those afflicted by anxiety and depression.

Havering Mind set up shop in Romford market, with representatives speaking to hundreds of people to make open discussion of mental health easier for the wider population.

Fairlytes choir roused passers-by on behalf of the charities with ’happy and uplifting songs’.

Ciaran White, events co-ordinator for Havering Mind, said: “Friday’s event went really well. There was a range of local mental health organisations in attendance. We are all working together to improve mental health in Havering, but we need the members of our community to help us raise awareness of mental health further, throughout the year.”

The initiative was part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Other charities present were Havering Samaritans, Voiceability and Family Mosaic.
